PA Pumper Involved in Deadly Highway Crash

A vehicle crashed into a Summit Hose Volunteer Fire Company pumper that was responding to another crash in Tarentum.

One person died after the vehicle they were in collided with a Summit Hose Volunteer Fire Company fire apparatus Friday.

The Summit Hose Volunteer Fire Company pumper was responding to a motor vehicle crash when they were struck on Route 28 about 2:30 p.m.

Officials confirmed with CBS Pittsburgh that one person died in crash.

The cause of collision is under investigation and officials said a snow storm was dropping precipitation in the area at the time of the crash.
